Development Facilitator
MAJOR TASKS: 1. Act as a primary link between the community, local partners, the program team and technical specialists. 2. Identify local partners including CBOs, NGOs and others. Assess their needs and assist in developing strategies which aim at building their capacities. 3. Monitor community needs and possible World Vision interventions. 4. Work with social groups to organize, mobilize, plan and implement activities to improve child well-being 5. Work with social groups to support, monitor and evaluate ongoing activities according to approved stated objectives, plan of action, budget and record progress. 6. Strengthen the understanding of community development and ownership and of social sustainability among the stakeholders in the area. 7. Strengthen the relationships between stakeholders and beneficiaries by creating a network between partners of the community (local NGOs, churches, associations, etc.) and community members 8. Act as a catalyst by equipping and empowering local partners and community members to move forward and take responsibility for community-based development through strategic thinking and planning 9. Coordinate focus groups at the IPM (Integrated Program Model) as necessary 10. Develop a good understanding of local politics and how this may affect development activities and partnerships with local government agencies 11. Introduce communities to child sponsorship 12. Assess whether communities are ready to take part in sponsorship 13. Facilitate the community-led selection of children 14. Select, train, support and monitor sponsorship volunteers to follow-up with sponsored children and their families 15. Liaise between the IPM Team Leader and the registered children's families to build trust between the IPM team and members of the community
EDUCATION / SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Education University degree in a field related to community development work preferably in fields such as sociology, agriculture, economics, and political studies.
Knowledge and Skills Experienced in building relationships and networks with individuals communities and development partners. Acquainted with Accounting principles. Computer literate in Microsoft Office package. Willing to travel within Lebanon with a valid driver's license and abroad as necessary. Acquainted with the IPM's (Integrated Program Model) communities.
Experience Must have prior experience of at least 2 years
